And more importantly, how we impact it? Safe Summer Saturday (July 2020 edition)

This summer (and always) Blue Scholars Initiative is working to educate about our local watershed, our beautiful Biscayne Bay and our amazing blue planet. Safe, smart and respectful actions by all help in our effort to protect the world around us, so check out our Safe Summer videos and pics, and TAKE ACTION.

Did you know our sunscreen harms coral reefs?
Where does all the rainwater go?

Hey friends, as the summer temps sizzle and we head back to the beach make sure to leave no trace of your presence. This water bottle will take up to 450 years to break up in the ocean. If you do see some trash pick it up so we can all enjoy the ocean’s beauty!

We here at Blue Scholars want to wish you a very safe and happy July 4th. But remember whether lighting up sparklers at home or watching a large colorful aerial production, all fireworks leave behind more than memories, they also result in trash. Even though here in Miami our beaches are closed for the 2020 holiday, make sure you clean up after your celebration to make sure we keep our country and our ocean clean!
