Launched annually on Giving Bay Day, The 12 Days of Biscayne Bay is a Blue Scholars Initiative virtual campaign utilizing digital media to raise public awareness around the issues impacting Biscayne Bay and surrounding watershed. From November 30 to December 11, Blue Scholars and local leaders will share a daily call to action in an effort to advocate for Biscayne Bay and activate the local community to take action.

Learn about and support the missions of the numerous organizations working to protect Biscayne Bay.
Report sick, injured or orphaned brown pelicans, seabirds and other native wildlife.
Support local leaders taking action on water quality, marine wildlife, education and outreach, ocean trash and carbon pollution.
Prevent pollution and quantify the types and quantities of pollutants entering local stormwater systems by joining SOP Technologies’ Community Stormwater Watch Program.
Rise Above Plastics (RAP) and support Ocean Friendly Restaurants (OFR) that commit to making sustainable choices for our ocean.
Buy in bulk and refill personal food containers to eliminate excess product packaging waste.
Become a more engaged, educated and effective environmental advocate as a Tropical Audubon Ambassador.
Help restore native oysters as a tool to mitigate algal blooms.
Plant native plants to increase the probability that bees, butterflies and birds can find and transport seeds and pollen across developed areas that separate isolated fragments of local flora.
Reduce fertilizer runoff by avoiding summertime application, phosphorus and close proximity to waterways or stormdrains.
Purchase a “Protect Biscayne Bay” specialty license plate to support habitat restoration, pollution prevention, and environmental education and awareness initiatives.
